# updatedb

> Create or update the database used by `locate`.

> It is usually run daily by cron.

- Refresh database content:
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
`sudo updatedb`
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
- Display file names as soon as they are found:
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
`sudo updatedb --verbose`
|
