# curl

> Transfers data from or to a server.

- Download a URL to a file:

- Send form-encoded data:

- Send JSON data:

- Specify an HTTP method:

- Head request:

`curl -I {{http://localhost}}`

- Include an extra header:

- Pass a user name and password for server authentication:

`curl -u myusername:mypassword {{http://localhost}}`

- Retrieve verbose output for a cURL request:
