# halt

- Halt the system:

`halt`

- Power off the system (same as `poweroff`):

`halt --poweroff`

- Reboot the system (same as `reboot`):

`halt --reboot`

- Halt immediately without contacting the system manager:

`halt --force`

- Write the wtmp shutdown entry without halting the system:

`halt --wtmp-only`
