# dig
> DNS Lookup utility.
- Lookup the IP(s) associated with a hostname (A records):
`dig +short {{example.com}}`

- Lookup the mail server(s) associated with a given domain name (MX record):
`dig +short {{example.com}} MX`

- Specify an alternate DNS server to query:
