# halt

- Halt the system:
|
|
|
|
`halt`
|
|
|
|
- Power off the system (same as `poweroff`):
|
|
|
|
`halt --poweroff`
|
|
|
|
- Reboot the system (same as `reboot`):
|
|
|
|
`halt --reboot`
|
|
|
|
- Halt immediately without contacting the system manager:
|
|
|
|
`halt --force`
|
|
|
|
- Write the wtmp shutdown entry without halting the system:
|
|
|
|
`halt --wtmp-only`
|
