# git rm

- Remove file from repository index and filesystem:
|
|
|
|
`git rm {{path/to/file}}`
|
|
|
|
- Remove directory:
|
|
|
|
`git rm -r {{path/to/directory}}`

- Remove file from repository index but keep it untouched locally:
|
|
|
|
`git rm --cached {{path/to/file}}`
|
