- Optimise the repository:

`git gc`
|

- Aggressively optimise, takes more time:

`git gc --aggressive`
|
|
|

- Do not prune loose objects (prunes by default):
|
|
|
|
`git gc --no-prune`
|
|
|
|
- Suppress all output:
|
|
|
|
`git gc --quiet`
