- Number lines in a file:

|
|
|
|
- Number only the lines with printable text:
|
|
|
|
`nl -t {{file}}`
|
|
|
|
- Number only the body lines that match a basic regular expression (BRE) pattern:
|
|
|
|
`nl -b p'FooBar[0-9]' {{file}}`
